What causes Calluses & how can you prevent them?!
A callus (or callosity) is a toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. Rubbing that is too frequent or forceful will cause blisters rather than allow calluses to form.
For calluses, toss a handful of Epsom salts into a basin of warm water, then soak feet for about 10 minutes. Once the dead skin has softened, use a callus file or pumice stone to rub off the top layers. Continue grind the callus down a bit each day after a bath or shower. That's it. You can shave, cut, pumice and chemically peel the hardened skin away but if it's your pink stilettos that are causing it and you refuse to give them up, the callusis going to grow back and fast. It's a myth that shaving, cutting, pumicing and peeling makes calluses grow back faster.
